Consultation

The effect of the above notice will be to inform the public that the Council proposes to construct traffic calming measures consisting of three flat-top road humps along Yardley Road, Olney:

1) From a point 45 metres south-east of its junction with Drift Way, for 4.5 metres in a south-easterly direction.

2) From a point 28 metres north-west of the centre point of its junction with Colson's Way, for 4.5 metres in a north-westerly direction.

3) From a point 71 metres north-west of its junction with Hoppers Hill, for 4.5 metres in a north-westerly direction.

The road humps will extend for a distance 4.5 metres at a height of 85mm and will extend across the entire width of the carriageway whilst maintaining a 300mm gap between the humps and the kerb line.

The Councils reason for introducing the above traffic calming measures comes as a result of improving road safety along the affected length of road.

The introduction of the traffic calming measures will help to reduce vehicular speeds on Yardley Road, Olney which will encourage and facilitate safe pedestrian and cyclist movements.
