Plans for spending capital budget

The capital programme details our plans for spending our capital budget. This is used to acquire or upgrade physical assets such as property, land or equipment.

The capital programme is approved by council in February. Before spending on any scheme within the capital programme can begin, project documentation has to be updated and appraised through the financial review process to ensure projects will deliver required outcomes, are fully funded and provide value for money. This review point is the spend approval stage, where following officer scrutiny, members agree to allow spending against allocated resources for individual projects.

The capital programme 2022-23 shows the latest allocation of capital resources for individual projects.
