Our Supported Housing for Older People Properties
We have a range of self-contained properties designed for people who wish to live independently, including one and two bedroom flats, one and two bedroom bungalows and studio flats.
All our schemes have a Sheltered Housing Officer who offers a daily visit to each tenant to check their overall well-being. Each property also has a Community Alarm System for help in an emergency.
Our Criteria
To live within Supported Housing for Older People you must meet the criteria set out in the Housing allocations policy. You will then also have a sheltered housing assessment completed with you by a Sheltered Housing Officer, and agreed by the Sheltered Housing Manager.
Supported Housing for Older People with Care
For people who may require more support the Council has developed some of its Supported Housing for Older People Schemes to provide Supported Housing for Older People with Care who provide 'on site' personal care support. These schemes are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and are regularly inspected.
The three current schemes are:
- Courteney's Lodge - for people with dementia
- Flowers House - for people with dementia
- Kilkenny House - for frail older people
