Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team
The SEN team works with children/young people aged from 0 - 25 years old whom have a Statement of SEN or an Education Health Care Plan, to ensure that appropriate education provision is provided.
If your child has a Statement of SEN or an Education Health Care plan then they will have an allocated SEN Officer.
The SEN Team works in partnership with schools, settings, parents/carers and professionals to ensure that we have the most up to date advice on your child.
The SEN Team provides support, advice and administers the statutory assessment process for a statement of SEN or an Education Health Care Plan. They also make sure that the children they hold responsibility for receive suitable education provision in line with what is set out in their Statement of SEN or Education Health Care Plan is met.
The SEN Team delivers the following services:
- Statutory Assessment (SA)
- Formulate a Statement of SEN or Education Health Care Plan
- Attends Annual Review and transitional plan process
- Admissions to school for Statemented or with an Education Health Care Plan
- SEN Tribunals (SENDIST)
- Provide resources/funds to schools to support children/young people who have a Statement of SEN or Education Health Care Plans
