Our Ethnic Minority Achievement team includes a GRT school mentor. Their work involves:
- promoting access to education for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller pupils (GRT) - offering, encouraging and supporting admission to local schools
- providing support to schools and families
- enabling GRT pupils to attain their full potential
- promoting awareness of this minority group - reflecting GRT culture positively in settings
Gypsy, Roma and Travellers (GRT) are:
- housed, sited and mobile Gypsies
- travellers
- Irish travellers - holding ethnic minority status
- Roma
- fairground, and circus families
- barge families - living on waterways
- new travellers
