Short Breaks
The Short Breaks scheme is available to children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, aged 0 – 25 whose education and well-being is the responsibility of Milton Keynes Council. This will be the vast majority of children and young people with an inherent condition or impairment, whether mild, moderate or severe, diagnosed or undiagnosed who live in Milton Keynes.
Short Breaks enable children and young people to try something different and make new friends while having time away from their primary carers. They are also an opportunity for carers to take some time out. A Short Break could be anything from a school-based scheme, sporting or leisure activity, an evening out or an overnight stay. Sometimes a Short Break can be a chance for the whole family to go on an outing where disabled children and young people can enjoy an activity together with their siblings.
