The service is available to Children and Adults. Your GP or Hospital Consultant may refer you to the department.

Orthotics is the science and practice of fitting surgical appliances to assist weakened joints.  Orthosis is a surgical appliance that exerts external forces on parts of the body to support joints or correct deformity.

These include;

  • Abdominal binders and corsets
  • Collars
  • Wigs
  • Spinal braces
  • Hip braces
  • Ankle foot orthosis (AFO)
  • Calipers
  • Knee ankle foot orthosis (KAFO)
  • Knee braces and supports
  • Insoles, footwear and ankle braces
