Disability Action Alliance

Disability Action Alliance

The Disability Action Alliance is a cross sector network of organisations committed to making a positive difference to the lives of disabled people.

Members work to deliver tangible improvements to the lives of disabled people at both local and national level. Improvements are sought through partnership working, innovation and the sharing of information.

Achievements to date include:

  • the development, launch and ongoing review of the Care and Disability Money Advice Service (MAS) website section;
  • introduction of a ‘Safe Journey Card’ and driver training in Blackpool to improve the travel experience of disabled people, which is now being adopted in other areas;
  • publication of ‘Inclusive Communities Guidance’ for Disabled People’s User Led Organisations and Local Authorities to better support local communities to include disabled people in decision making that affects their lives;
  • launch of an ever increasing number of pledges to the Volunteering Charter; and
  • updating the DAA Website to better enhance partnership working and sharing information.

If you want to be involved

We are keen for Alliance members to build partnerships and be involved in projects. If you want to be involved, please contact us via DAA@disabilityrightsuk.org alternatively fill out our join us form.

If you are not a member and want to be, please email us. Joining does not commit you to specific activity, but will give you:

  • greater opportunity to work in partnership with Alliance members;
  • access to information and resources on the DAA website;
  • the opportunity to become involved in, and propose, DAA projects; and
  • promotion of the fantastic work that you do for and with disabled people.
