Autism MK - training opportunities
Autism Beds have identified some funding that would allow them to deliver a skill development course in MK before the end of July.
Below are the three courses (with outline objectives/activities) that are on offer:
Building Resilience
- Understanding the four steps of communication and body language
- How to ask for help
- Exploring trust
- Coping with anxiety
- Assertiveness and when to say no
- Dealing with Challenging situations in the community
Money Management
- Understanding wants and needs
- Understanding spending habits
- What is a budget
- How to create a budget
- Money saving ideas and strategies
- Online banking
- Account types
- Price comparison
Travel Training
- Route planning
- Risk Assessment
- Buying tickets
- How to stay safe
- A phased support approach to practical journey taking
Jane (Talent Unlimited UK) and Talkback have agreed to help co-ordinate this with Chris from Autism Beds.
We have arranged for Sharna Raine from Autism Beds to come to Unity Park Station (where TU and CAMEO MK are run) on Friday 12 April from 3pm to 4.30pm to explain more about the courses on offer.
