Summary
As per the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), the council is required to identify and update annually a supply of specific deliverable sites sufficient to provide a minimum of five years’ worth of housing against their housing requirement, as set out in adopted strategic policies within Plan:MK; this is also known as a five-year housing land supply (5YHLS).
The council's latest annual five-year land supply position covering the period 2024-25 to 2028/29 set from a base date of 1 April 2024 and prepared in accordance with the NPPF and Planning Practice Guidance, can be viewed at the link below. Appended to the report is the council's housing trajectory and the associated site by site assessment that has been carried out, including relevant site-specific evidence and information that has been used in preparing this year's 5YHLS report.
The current version of the Council’s Housing Land Supply Phasing Methodology can also be viewed at the link below. The Phasing Methodology outlines the processes the council undertakes in preparing its annual 5YHLS report and the ongoing monitoring and engagement it undertakes throughout the year to ensure up-to-date evidence is available to assist in informing the five-year land supply position.
