The purpose of the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) process is to appraise the social, environmental and economic effects of a plan from the outset. In doing so it will help ensure that decisions are made that contribute to achieving sustainable development in line with the objectives of the MK City Plan 2050. The SA is a requirement of plan-making and is an ‘iterative’ process (repeated again and again) that continues to develop as the plan evolves.
