Designing Dementia-friendly Neighbourhoods SPD 2022
The Designing Dementia-friendly Neighbourhoods Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted by Milton Keynes Council via a Delegated Decision on 5 April 2022. The adopted SPD is available at the link below and details regarding the consultation on the draft document and the responses received during the consultation are outlined later on this page.

The Designing Dementia-friendly Neighbourhoods Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) will support policies in Plan:MK including Policy SD1 which requires that “development promotes good physical and mental health.” It provides design guidance aimed at creating neighbourhoods that will help to maintain the wellbeing and independence of people living with dementia.

Consultation on the Draft Designing Dementia-friendly Neighbourhoods Supplementary Planning Document 2022
Milton Keynes Council consulted on a draft version of the Designing Dementia-friendly Neighbourhoods Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for a period of 8 weeks between Monday 10 January and Friday 4 March 2022. Following the consultation period, all comments received were taken into consideration by the Council in finalising the SPD for adoption.
