Adoption of the Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document
A new Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted by the Cabinet of Milton Keynes Council on 13 January 2020, and supersedes the previous Affordable Housing SPD adopted in March 2013. The adopted SPD is available at the link below. Summaries of representations made during two public consultations on the draft SPD in 2019 and 2018 are also available below.
The Cabinet report recommending adoption of the SPD is available to view at Cabinet 13/01/2020 (Agenda Item 14).
The SPD provides guidance on how Policy HN2 (and other relevant policies) of Plan:MK will be implemented by the Council when determining relevant planning applications.

First Homes
A position statement setting out Council’s approach to First Homes in relation to the adopted Plan:MK policy HN2 and the Affordable Housing SPD is available below.
It sets out the policy context including the requirements of the PPG, Plan:MK policy and the adopted Affordable Housing SPD. It considers how First Homes relate to the requirement for affordable home ownership in the NPPF and sets out worked examples for illustrative purposes.
