How to apply

To submit a building control application, please email your completed PDF application form(s) along with all supporting documents as attachments in an email to building.control@milton-keynes.gov.uk.

Supporting documents for:

  • Full Plans, Regularisation and Reversions application – we require full set of detailed existing and proposed plans, site/location/block plan, and any required structural calculations or supporting information.
  • Building Notice – we require site/location/block plan for extensions and new garages (not required for garage conversions or internal alterations), Internal floor area, and any required structural calculations or supporting information.

Upon receipt of all documentation, we will review (or request further information), proceed with fee calculation, and email a payment link. For smoother transaction, please specify who will make the payment and ensure their email address is registered with the Milton Keynes City Council. Once the fee is paid, the application will be considered valid.

Inspection process for:

  • Full plans and Building Notice – Inspections can be book by 5pm the preceding day, using mobile app (Android/Apple), email or phone.
  • Regularisation and Reversions application – Building Inspector will contact you to arrange inspection.
