12 December 2024

Following a fire on Tuesday evening, Milton Keynes Market has reopened for business. Although clear up work continues, more than 50% of stalls are safely trading today – some in different positions to usual - and more will be open by the weekend, some on temporary locations using car parking spaces.

Milton Keynes City Council and Milton Keynes Development Partnership would like to thank all stallholders and customers for their support, as well as the emergency services who worked quickly and effectively to get the fire under control.

For everyone’s safety, sections of surrounding roads will remain closed as engineering inspections and tests are completed. This process may take several weeks and will determine the extent of repairs needed to Secklow Gate Bridge and other infrastructure.

We invite local people to show their support by shopping at Milton Keynes Market, as this will help stallholders at this very important time of the year.  We will provide another update next week.
