Voluntary Agency - Different Strokes

Voluntary Agency - Different Strokes

We provide support to people of working age and younger who have had a stroke, and to their family members, to help people better understand and cope with life after stroke.

This includes providing information packs, providing practical and emotional support to people over the phone, and a thriving online support group where people can share their experiences.

We also have a highly active group in Northampton, where people meet on a weekly basis for peer support, exercise and to socialise.

We have Children’s resource packs available for children of stroke survivors to better understand what has happened to mum or dad.

Peer support is at the heart of everything we do, and a number of staff, half our trustees, and the majority of our volunteers are stroke survivors themselves.

Our office is open during working hours, although our online support group is available 24/7.
