Pharmacies can help with lots of health concerns and many are open until late and at weekends. You don't need an appointment – you can just walk in.  Pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.  All pharmacies can dispense prescriptions and dispose of unwanted medication.  They can provide advice on “over the counter” medicines, prescribed medicines, minor illnesses and healthy lifestyles.  Some pharmacies offer extra services, including flu vaccines, emergency contraception, stop smoking advice and substance misuse services.
