Care Roles within Adult Social Care
Day Centre Services
At Milton Keynes City Council we provide day services for elderly people with dementia and for people with learning disabilities. All of the services are purpose built and activities are based around the needs of individuals. Working in day services provides many different experiences assisting people with activities, meals and personal care. The role will provide you with many learning opportunities and enable you to develop your career in care.
Home Carer
A home carer looks after someone with a range of complex needs enabling them to live an independent life, within their own home, through the delivery of a personal care service. This includes providing social, personal and emotional support where appropriate to do so. It is a rewarding job, working with individuals with complex needs, enabling them to live within their own homes.
Care and Response Operator
A care and response operator works as a mobile warden responding to emergencies and dealing with alarm equipment. They also work as a control operator escalating actions in response to alarm calls or out-of-hours services. This role is vital to help maintain the independence of service users in their own homes and to work closely with other services especially out of hours. A fast paced role in which every day is different.
