Estate Renewal Forum Autumn and Winter Events

Over Winter the Estate Renewal Forum secured funding from Fullers Clubs to run activities for residents in Fullers Slade. All the events had excellent attendance and families had a great time, as they got to meet and mix with other residents.

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

The trip to Buckinghamshire Railway Centre was the first trip of the festive period. Families had a fantastic day out which included a train ride with Santa who gave each child a present. There was also a performance of Cinderella at the end of the day which everyone enjoyed.

Gulliver’s Land

Residents enjoyed a family fun day with free travel to Gulliver’s Land. Children and adults had unlimited rides on all the attractions during the day. The day out also included a main streets snow shower and music show, lunch with a stage show and then they got to meet Santa. At the end of the day there were lots of tired children and adults!

MK Safari

Just before Christmas residents of Fullers Slade took over MK Safari. All the young people who attended were able to play in the indoor area, have a meal and all children received a gift. Parents/Carers had hot food and chance to socialise with other residents.

Festive Window Competition

This Winter the Estate Renewal Forum with support from MKCC and SSTC ran a festive window competition. All residents had the chance to enter this fun community contest. Judges from MKCC and SSTC viewed many wonderful displays and finally choose a winner. All who entered the competition were invited to an event the next day where the winning window display was announced.

Halloween Event

In October the Fullers Slade Estate Renewal Forum held a Halloween pit stop for all residents to attend. This gave over 100 residents a chance to warm up with a hotdog, soup or just a hot drink. Young people had a chance to fill up their bags with some extra sweets and it was great to see so many spooky outfits that evening. Adults got a chance to speak with other parents and the Community Engagement Team about issues on the estate.

Christmas Party

Just before Christmas the Fullers Slade Estate Renewal Forum held a Christmas Party for adults at the Rowans Centre. This free event provided festive music, food and bad cracker jokes to all attendees. Attendees enjoyed a game of bingo after the food and everyone received a bag of Christmas goodies.

Snow White Panto

After Christmas residents had a trip to Stantonbury Theatre to watch a performance of Snow White. This was a lovely opportunity for families to spend some time together and watch a show.

Black History Month Celebration

In October the ERF in partnership with MKCC and Learning Through The Arts celebrated Black History Month in Fullers Slade. The event included celebrating the music and contribution of I.K.Dairo the first African musician to receive MBE, drumming workshop, arts and crafts, African inspired dancing presented by local young people and great food. The event was funded by the Shared Prosperity fund.

We hope that everyone who attended these trips and events had a fantastic time, made new memories with their families and made new friends. It was great to meet so many new faces at these events.

Photography course

During October there was a free digital photography course that ran for 4 weeks. This was a basic introduction on how to get the most out of your camera phone. All the attendees found this course really useful. If you would like to see the photos taken around the estate, there is a book in the Community Hub that you are welcome to view.
