Milton Keynes City Council invites expressions of interest in providing entertainment, stalls, and services at Emberton Country Park for the 60th birthday weekend of 12 and 13 July 2025.
Introduction
Milton Keynes City Council is celebrating 60 years since the opening of Emberton Country Park. To celebrate, there will be a weekend of nature inspired activities for children and adults from walks and talks with rangers and ecology and wellbeing experts, as well as bug hunting and making bat and bird boxes with the Play Association.
We are expecting at least 2,000 people over the weekend. The theme is ‘Back to the 60s’ and there will be live music, performances, activities and more.
Emberton Country Park was officially opened as the country’s first country park in 1965. It was formerly a site for extracting gravel for building works across the new areas of Milton Keynes. The restoration of this area provides an excellent park of over 200 acres where it is possible to fish, sail, run, cycle, bird watch, picnic or play in one of the three play areas. There are 115 static caravan pitches, where families return each summer, as well as the camp site.
