Camping and caravanning

Emberton Country Park provides camping for groups of family, friends and organised rallies and has over 200 pitches suitable for tents, caravans and motor homes over two different areas: 

  • Touring Field - enclosed field with allocated pitches and toilets/showers block
  • Rally Field - three open fields with a short walk to toilets/no showers

The camping season runs from 1 April to 31 October:

  • 3 nights minimum stay (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) over bank holiday weekends
  • 2 night minimum stay (Friday and Saturday) during weekends in July and August

Booking

Before making your booking, please:

  • read our terms and conditions
  • check suitability of your campervan, caravan, trailer tent or tent - our pitches vary in size, shape and accessibility

Bookings can be made Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.15pm by telephone 01908 252860.

Bookings must be made by an adult over the age of 21 years who must be present for the duration of that booking. Proof of age may be required. Persons under 21 years of age will only be permitted to camp if they are part of a family unit. This means that they must be with a parent or legal guardian. Please note: there is a maximum stay of 3 weeks per booking.

Bookings are non-transferable and are confirmed subject to park conditions. Occasionally park/ground conditions can lead to a cancellation. If this is the case, you will be notified via the contact details you have provided and reimbursed in full.

Arrival and departure 

When you arrive at the gatehouse, you will be given a booking information pack.

  • pitches are available from 11am on day of arrival or 4pm on Sundays and bank holidays
  • pitches must be vacated by 11am on day of departure or 4pm on Sundays or bank holidays

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period, management reserves the right to re-let your pitch.

Pricing

Charges below are for peak season. Off peak charges (7 September to 31 October) £2.00 reduction on charges per night.

The touring field

  • pitch per night £30.50 with electric hook-up £34.25, with hook-up and water, £36.25
  • pitch per week £173.00 with electric hook-up £203.00, with hook-up and water, £213.00
  • Surcharge for parties over four (subject to booking system compatibility) £8.75

The rally fields

  • pitch per night £24.50
  • pitch per week £142.50

The rally fields – club groups (10 minimum)

Club rally group bookings must be arranged in advance with the park's rally officer and will normally give exclusive use of field required.

Please note that rally field users are not permitted to use showers in other camping areas within the park, for comfort and safety reasons. Any campers found breaking this rule will be asked to leave the park.

Pup tents and extra vehicles

One small tent for children only, to be sited on parent’s pitch.

Group restrictions

The park management reserves the right to refuse groups of campers deemed unsuitable. Please contact us if you are in any doubt whether your group will suitable for this campsite.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds or discounts for bad weather, late arrivals or early departures.

If you are unable to make the original dates booked, subject to availability dates can be rebooked.

Refunds will be offered on the following basis:

  • more than 4 weeks’ notice of cancellation - 90% refund
  • 3 weeks’ notice of cancellation - 75% refund
  • 2 weeks’ notice of cancellation - 50% refund
  • 1 week notice of cancellation - 25% refund
  • less than 1 week notice of cancellation - no refund

Administrative costs will not be reimbursed for any cancellation.

Static caravan park information

There are 115 holiday home pitches for single static caravans.

Facilities include communal toilets, showers, and chemical disposal points. The static caravans may be occupied between midnight on 28 March or the day before Good Friday (or earlier when stated by the council) and midnight on 31 October.

Requesting a pitch for a static caravan

Please note that the holiday homes are privately owned and owners have a licence agreement in place, and that Milton Keynes City Council is not involved in the sale of caravans.

Owner responsibilities

Static caravan owners are required to ensure that:

  • Emberton Country Park Byelaws 1994 are observed
  • their holiday home is maintained to a good and decent state
  • their pitch and area around their holiday home is kept tidy and safe
  • their holiday home and pitch is compliant with relevant health and safety standards and rectify any issues promptly
  • that vehicles are parked safely and used without causing inconvenience to others
  • all ball games are kept to other areas of the park
  • that family and guests behave in a socially responsible manner.

Caravan storage facility

Our caravan/motorhome storage compound accommodates 40 caravans and is open throughout the year. We offer a year or 6 month option, starting 1st April, and the following benefits:

  • Locked compound, surrounded by security fencing with alarm and CCTV
  • Pedestrian access for keyholders
  • Electric hook up facility to test electrical appliances on caravans/motorhomes
  • vehicle access by appointment only for additional security
  • Access pass to the park for the duration of the storage term
  • Caravan Site Storage Owners Association (CaSSOA) Silver award accreditation, which can reduce insurance premiums

Prices for 2025/25 are:

  • 1 year - £525.00
  • 6 months - £325.00

During your stay

When you arrive, you will be issued with a vehicle access card which should be returned to the gatehouse on final departure - extra vehicles are allowed but will be charged the normal daily entry charges.

Please note that the following activities are not allowed during your stay:

  • the use of generators - unless by prior arrangement
  • the use of inflatables such as bouncy castles
  • the use of fireworks, firearms or missiles
  • the use of drones
  • the use of motorised petrol and electric bikes and scooters, including quad bikes, monkey bikes, mini motor bikes and go-peds - invalid carriages and mobility scooters are allowed
  • swimming, wading and paddling
  • boating and sailing - unless you are part of an organised rally group taking part in a pre-arranged activity on Grebe Lake 

BBQs and fires

BBQs are only permitted for those camping in the touring field and at the static caravan site. Please ensure the BBQ is away from trees and shrubs, and that it does not damage the grass or any of the park's property. Always use the dedicated ash bins to dispose of cooled ashes. Campfires are not permitted anywhere in the park. 

Dogs

We welcome dogs and responsible dog owners. Please note there is a dog charge of £5.50 per stay. You must clean up after your dog - 'doggie bags' can be placed into any of the park's waste bins. Dogs must: 

  • be kept on a lead in all camping fields and in the static caravan site
  • never be left unattended
  • be under control at all times
  • not enter any of the buildings within the park, the conservation area or the children's play areas, except guide dogs

Noise

Please consider other users of the Park. The volume of any radio, stereo or television must be kept low and must be switched off after 10.00pm. No loud noises, including shouting and screaming after 10.00pm.

Recycling and rubbish

There are large communal bins in the static caravan area. The pink bin is for recycling and the black bin is for other rubbish.

Free reusable recycling bags are available from the gatehouse to help store and transport recycling to the bin. 

Holiday home owners are also allowed to book a slot at the Newport Pagnell household waste recycling centre by contacting customer services on 01908 252811.

You can also help us to keep Emberton Country Park beautiful and safe for the wildlife by collecting a free litter pick kit from the Café. £5 refundable deposit required.

Eviction

Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in you being asked to leave the park. The park management reserves the right to evict any person from the park if the behaviour of any member of their party is deemed unacceptable. Examples of what may be considered unacceptable includes, but is not limited to; loud music, raucous behaviour, use of language or behaviour likely to cause offence to others. If you are asked to leave the park you must do so immediately, and no refund will be offered.

Emergencies

Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times - if you lose your child, report the incident immediately to the gatehouse.
