MK Council is formally consulting on the following proposed traffic regulation order:

The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (Emberton - Residents Permit Parking Area) Order 2022

The general effect of the Order, which will to introduce a resident permit parking area in Emberton and will include the following lengths of road:

  1. Hulton Drive, Emberton – its entire length
  2. Olney Road, Emberton - the service road that leads to numbers 43 to 57

The proposed residents permit scheme comes as a result of the increase in visitors to Emberton Park over the past several years and in April 2021 the Park re-introduced parking charges, which is likely to encourage more visitors to park within the village where they can park free of charge.

The proposed changes will ensure equality for all users, encourage modal shift to more sustainable modes of transport, increase investment in transport from parking income, maintain economic vitality and reduce carbon emissions, all in line with the aims and objectives of The Borough of Milton Keynes Parking Strategy.

The Council will continue to monitor the way in which highway facilities are used and address any issues that come to its notice and following meaningful consultation with all stakeholders do what it considers necessary to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Any objections to the above proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing, and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-322.

The closing date for this consultation is 30 December 2021.
