Milton Keynes Council is formally consultation the the following proposed Traffic Regulation Order:

The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes) (Various Roads, Milton Keynes) (Electric Vehicle Parking Places) Order 2016) Variation Order 2022

The general effect of the Order will be to introduce electric vehicle only parking spaces at the following locations: -

Dovecote, Newport Pagnell, 4x parking spaces

Eton Crescent, Wolverton, 4x parking spaces

Furze Way, Wolverton, 6x parking spaces

Green Lane, Wolverton, 10x parking spaces

High Street, Olney, 6x parking spaces

High Street, Stony Stratford, 8x parking spaces

Holland Way, Newport Pagnell, 8x parking spaces

Horsefair Green, Stony Stratford, 6x parking spaces

Kennet Drive, Bletchley, 10x parking spaces

Lancaster Gate, Bletchley, 6x parking spaces

Malletts Close, Stony Stratford, 8x parking spaces

Middlesex Drive, Bletchley, 6x parking spaces

Midland Road, Olney, 10x parking spaces

Southern Way, Wolverton, 10x parking spaces

Tees Way, Bletchley,  8x parking spaces

Wellingborough Road, Olney, 8x parking spaces

Westminster Drive, West Bletchley, 8x parking spaces

Woodside, Stony Stratford, 6x parking spaces

Yardley Road, Olney, 8x parking spaces

 

The proposed alterations to parking come as a result of the continuous improvements being made to reduce carbon emissions in the Borough of Milton Keynes and will ensure equality for all users, encourage modal shift to more sustainable modes of transport and maintain economic vitality, all in line with the aims and objectives of the Councils Transport Strategy.

The parking places will be operational at all times and will be marked out and clearly signed in accordance with Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

The Council considers it expedient to make this Order to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular traffic along the affected lengths of roads.

The Council will continue to monitor the way in which highway facilities are used and address any issues that come to its notice and following meaningful consultation with all stakeholders do what it considers necessary to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Any objections to the above proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-334.
