Consultation
Milton Keynes City Council has the duty to consult upon and determine its admission arrangements for 2025 for those schools for which it is the admission authority. The council is the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools, but not the admission authority for all other types of school (voluntary aided, foundation or academy).
The admission arrangements for 2025 propose the following changes to the Published Admission Number (PAN) of two schools due to reduced demand in the local area. The proposals are as follows:
School |
Current PAN |
Proposed PAN |
Stoke Goldington CE First |
15 |
10 |
Cedars Primary School |
45 |
30 |
There is a proposed change to the catchment area of Wavendon Gate School. It is proposed that the catchment area will also include the new housing development area at Church Farm.
There is also a proposed change to the oversubscription criteria to include children eligible for the service premium. This proposed addition is in line within the provision of the School Admissions Code 2021 and has been added to support the Armed Forces Covenant which Milton Keynes City Council is signed up to.
Purpose
This policy outlines the admission arrangements for all community and voluntary controlled primary schools in Milton Keynes with effect from admission to schools in September 2025.
This consultation seeks views from those directly involved as to whether they are in agreement with the proposal. Please read the proposed admission arrangements, published admission numbers and catchment areas and use the online form to respond.
Schools not covered by this policy are responsible for making their own decisions regarding their admission arrangements. Queries regarding arrangements for these schools should be made directly to the schools concerned.
Consultation Result
The school admission arrangements for September 2025 were determined following a delegated decision taken by the cabinet member for Children and Families on 13 February 2024.
