Milton Keynes Council (“The Council”) is proposing to introduce the following traffic regulation Order under Sections 82(2) and 83(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes) The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (Various Roads in Milton Keynes and Surrounding Areas) (20 mph Speed Restriction) Order 2021) Variation Order 2022

The effect of the above proposed Order will be to introduce a 20mph speed limit restriction along the entire length of Cross End in Wavendon. The above proposal is in accordance with the section 278 agreement for the Residential Development at Wavendon Cross End.

As the Highway Authority for Cross End, Milton Keynes Council is satisfied that the introduction of the above proposed speed restriction will encourage the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The current speed restriction imposed on Cross End is national (60mph).

All signs and road markings will be in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

The Council will continue to monitor the way in which highway facilities are used and address any issues that come to its notice and following meaningful consultation with all stakeholders do what it considers necessary to facilitate the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the above proposal.

Any objections to the above proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-328.
