The draft Planning Obligation Protocol aims to show how ward councillors and local town and parish councils can inform and influence decisions relating to “planning obligations” in their areas.



Milton Keynes Council uses “planning obligations” to ensure developers fund and deliver local improvements that are needed as a direct result of new development in local areas. Ward councillors and local town and parish councils have an important role to play in informing the negotiation of new “planning obligations” and in many cases helping to implement them.
