MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL, in accordance with the provisions of Section 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Regulation 25 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that with effect from and including 31 March 2025, there will be a change in the charges payable for the following:
On-street and off-street standard tariff parking. The current minimum charge for 2 hours of Standard tariff parking will increase to £2.00. The chart below indicates the charges for standard tariff, effective from 31 March 2025:

On-street and off-street premium tariff parking. The current minimum charge for 1 hour of Premium tariff parking will increase to £2.50. The chart below indicates the charges for standard tariff, effective from 31 March 2025:

Employee permit. The current charge for the Central Milton Keynes Employee Permit will increase to £675.00. The chart below indicates the charges for the employee permit, effective from 31 March 2025:

Employee permit. The current charge for the Central Milton Keynes Employee 24-hour Permit will increase to £3.00, effective from 31 March 2025
Employee permit. The current charge for the 5-hour employee permit will increase to £2.00, effective from 31 March 2025.
The above changes will affect each of the streets stated in the Schedules of the following named Orders:
- The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (Central Milton Keynes) (On-Street Standard Tariff Parking Places) Order 2020
- The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (Central Milton Keynes) (On-Street Premium Tariff Parking Places) Order 2020
- Milton Keynes City Council (North Sixth Street, Central Milton Keynes) (On-Street Free and Limited Waiting and Standard Tariff Parking Places) Order 2024
- The Council of the Borough of Milton Keynes (Central Milton Keynes) (Off-Street Pay and Display and Pay by Mobile Phone Parking Places and Disabled Persons’ Parking Places) Order 2013
The Council is now serving formal notification on the variation of charge. Any representations or objections to the proposed variation of charge, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team at Milton Keynes Council, Civic Offices, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ, or by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference NOT-055.
Any representations received will be taken into consideration before the implementation of the scheme.
The closing date for this consultation is 5pm on 10 March 2025.
