We're asking for comments on our proposal to extend the 20mph zone onto Willen Road, Newport Pagnell following a petition from residents to the Council.

The petition (signed by residents) was submitted to the Council requesting a 20mph zone for Willen Road, due to concerns over speeding at this location and the number of vehicles using the road as a cut through to avoid Marsh End Road.

We have carried out speed surveys on Willen Road which has revealed that the average speeds are above the acceptable level for a 20mph zone. 

Therefore, it is necessary that as part of the scheme, the Council will need to introduce a series of traffic calming features on Willen Road to reduce vehicular speeds to a compliant level.

After the consultation period, we will review all the comments received during the formal process and will either proceed with the proposals in full or make adjustments that may require further consultation. We anticipate that any potential scheme would go ahead in August 2024.
