The Milton Keynes Hackney Carriage Association has requested the following changes to the current Hackney Carriage Table of Fares.

The proposed fare increase only applies to licensed Hackney Carriage vehicles. These are the taxis that stand at public taxi ranks, or taxis operated by local firms that exclusively use Hackney Carriages.

The proposed fare increase does not apply to private hire vehicles that you can pre-book through an operator over the phone or by using an app.

Tariff 1

• Increase by 5%

Tariff 2

• Increase by 5%

Tariff 3

• No change

Tariff 4 (new tariff for 5 or more passengers)

• Start rate £6.00
• First 2 miles £4.00 per mile
• Remaining journey £3.00 per mile
• (Extras button to be deactivated in Tariff 4)

Extra charges

Increase by 5%

For each person in excess of two (excluding infants in arms) and for the use of the luggage compartment a maximum charge of 46p.
