Information for Milton Keynes Coroner's court
Covid-19
As restrictions have now eased in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have also followed in pursuit by changing our rules and regulations for when those attend court. You are now no longer required to wear a mask in court but can still do so if you wish. If you believe that you are unwell with Covid-19 or displaying symptoms, we kindly request that you do not attend court for the health and safety of others. We do still have hand sanitising stations available for use.
Access to/from the court
On arrival to the Court, please use the entrance on North Eight Street where you will be seen to by one of our court volunteers. If no one is present, please speak to the receptionist who can contact the Coroner’s Office on your behalf.
The doors to Milton Keynes Coroner’s Court will be locked between inquest hearings. If you wish to attend, please be sure to arrive within plenty of time to be seated before the inquest begins.
Court Room
Families who wish to attend court must notify the Coroner’s Office with who is attending giving their names and contact telephone number in advance of the hearing. Legal representatives will also be required to give over this information prior to an inquest.
If you wish to join the proceedings by video link rather than attend court in person, then please notify the Coroner’s Office at the earliest opportunity so that arrangement can be made to facilitate such request.
Upcoming court hearings are published on the Milton Keynes Council website as a legal requirement therefore, in some cases press may be in attendance.
Under no circumstances are photos, videos or recordings permitted within court including when listening online. If you are found to be breaching these regulations, you will be in contempt of the court which can be punishable by a fine or up to two years in prison.
