Direct Payments are a one off or ongoing payment from the council to you, or to someone acting on your behalf, to pay for the cost of arranging all or part of your agreed support.
- Direct payments can give you more choice and control about how you receive support and from who
- To receive a Direct Payment you must be assessed and eligible for social care and for Adult Social Care Funded Support
- How you use your Direct Payment must be based on what has been agreed in your care and support plan
Everyone who has a Direct Payment signs an agreement with the Council which sets out how it works. If you have any difficulties you can ask for help, we also regularly check that having a Direct Payment is working well for you and how well you are managing this money.
