What do day care services do?
Milton Keynes City Council older persons day care services aim to improve the quality of life for individuals, enabling them to socialise with others in a relaxed community setting. The services support physical and emotional needs by providing a flexible, warm, and friendly environment that assists with maintaining ongoing independence.
Services on offer:
- Respite for carers
- Monday to Friday day service
- Transport to and from the centre in our wheelchair-accessible minibus (Subject to a fixed charge)
- Hot two course meal - able to meet individual’s dietary requirements (Subject to a fixed charge)
- Well trained staff – trained to MKC standards
- All staff are DBS and cleared for working with vulnerable adults
- Provide support with personal care needs
Available activities:
- Gentle exercise
- Singing and music
- Games & Quizzes
- Arts and crafts
- Entertainment events
- Accessing the community
The service currently operates at:
- Simpson Day Care Service
For people with a medical diagnosis of dementia, they may also be physically frail or have a physical disability
- Kitchener Day Care Service
Offers a service to residents of Olney, Newport Pagnell and the surrounding villages who are physically frail or have a diagnosis of dementia
